The Salewa Mountain Trainer Merino are men's trekking socks designed for mountain excursions in cool temperatures, where heat and moisture management makes the difference between a comfortable and an exhausting day. The mix of materials chosen by Salewa is not by chance: Merino wool guarantees natural thermoregulation, keeping the foot warm without overheating it, and neutralizes bad odors even after hours of walking — a quality that those who frequent mountain huts appreciate.
Construction and comfort
The sock's structure combines three components: Merino wool for thermoregulation, polyamide to reinforce wear areas and increase durability over time, and elastane to ensure an elastic fit that adapts to the shape of the foot without sagging during movement. The terrycloth footbed acts as a cushioning layer in areas of most intense pressure — heel and forefoot — reducing fatigue on long distances. The snug cuff keeps the sock stable inside the hiking boot, preventing slipping that causes discomfort and blisters.
