DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Ikon was created to overcome the traditional compromise between strength and lightness in climbing helmets. Unlike purely hardshell or in-mold models, the Ikon adopts a hybrid approach that combines the best features of both construction technologies.
Construction and Protection
The outer ABS shell provides superior impact resistance compared to traditional in-mold helmets, while the internal 3D rib structure — integrated directly into the ventilation openings — distributes mechanical loads more efficiently, increasing rigidity and robustness without adding unnecessary weight. The honeycomb openings are not just simple holes: their hexagonal geometry is an integral part of the helmet's structural system, actively contributing to overall integrity.
Ventilation and Adaptability
The honeycomb pattern maximizes the aeration surface, ensuring constant airflow during rock climbing, mixed alpine routes, or crag outings in warmer seasons. The adjustment system allows for precise adaptation to the head shape, ensuring stability even during dynamic movements. The Ikon is certified EN 12492, the European standard for mountaineering and climbing helmets, which includes vertical and lateral impact tests.
It is a concrete choice for those seeking a reliable helmet on varied terrain — from crags to mountains — without sacrificing the active ventilation typical of lighter in-mold models.
