DESCRIPTION
Atomic Backland 86 UL is an ultralight ski touring ski designed for fast & light touring enthusiasts looking for maximum efficiency on both the ascent and the descent.
With a width of 86 mm underfoot, the Backland 86 UL is Atomic's lightest ski in this category. Its construction is the result of intensive testing and research and is based on a unique ratio of wood and fiberglass, designed to make the ascent lighter and more efficient without compromising downhill performance.
The heart of the ski is the Ultra Light Woodcore made of poplar and caruba, reinforced by an ultralight carbon insert that runs the full length and acts as a stabilizing backbone. This balance between lightness and rigidity ensures optimal power during descents.
Thanks to its All-Terrain Profile and All Mountain Rocker, the Backland 86 UL adapts to variable conditions:
- The rocker provides an early rise in the tip for versatile handling both on-piste and off-piste
- The lightweight HRZN 3D tip, made from a thin, perforated material, increases surface area and improves flotation in deep snow
- Performance is best expressed on fresh snow, groomed runs, and everything in between
A cut-out notch in the tip ensures full compatibility with Atomic PreFit skins, simplifying setup for every mountain excursion.
