DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland 86 SL W is a women's touring ski designed for those who don't want to compromise between lightness on the ascent and performance on the descent. With a tip width of 86 mm, it falls into the all-mountain touring category, capable of handling compact snow on the piste as well as a few centimeters of fresh powder off-piste.
Construction and materials
Atomic has reinterpreted the Backland structure with a sustainability-oriented approach without sacrificing performance. The poplar wood sandwich sidewall ensures high torsional rigidity, essential for precise edge hold on descents, while the tip-tail geometry reduces overall weight without weakening the ski at critical points. The construction uses low environmental impact materials, in line with Atomic's responsible lifecycle program developed for the Backland line.
