The Atomic Backland PRO is a ski touring boot designed for those seeking a true balance between lightness on the ascent and control on the descent, without sacrificing either. It is the benchmark model within the Backland family for its performance-to-weight ratio.
Construction and Materials
The structure adopts Prolite technology, which reduces overall weight while maintaining the structural rigidity necessary for demanding skiing. The lower shell is made of carbon-loaded material, a choice that lowers the weight compared to traditional compounds and at the same time improves the transmission of input to the ski when carving and conducting.
Closure and Handling System
Transitioning between ascent and descent modes is done via the Free/Lock 4.0 system, which can be operated with a single movement even with gloves. The Frictionless Pivot mechanism eliminates friction in the hinge movement in touring mode, providing a smooth and natural walk, particularly appreciated on long climbs.
