DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland Pro UL is the flagship boot of the Backland UL family, designed for those who practice fast and light ski mountaineering. The shell construction integrates carbon fibers which lower the overall weight without sacrificing the torsional rigidity needed for downhill, offering a direct and precise response even on packed snow or challenging off-piste terrain.
Technologies for ascent and descent
The Free/Lock 4.0 system manages the transition between ski and walk modes with optimized lever travel, reducing transition times near stations. The Frictionless Pivot eliminates friction in walking movement, providing a fluid and natural ankle articulation that reduces muscle fatigue during long ascents. Combined, these two systems make the boot competitive in both ski mountaineering races and long-distance freetouring excursions.
