The PIEPS Probe ALU 260 Sport is an aluminum avalanche probe designed for those new to ski mountaineering or who practice snowshoeing and want a reliable tool for rescue operations in the event of avalanche burial. With a maximum length of 260 cm, it covers the average burial depth found in most avalanche incidents, making it suitable for amateur and semi-professional use.
Deployment and Locking System
The core of the probe is the Speed-Cone system, which allows the segments to be extracted and locked into operational position in a single swift motion, drastically reducing deployment times when every second counts. The quick locking device keeps the segments firmly in place during probing, preventing accidental collapses that could distort the search or slow down operations.
