DESCRIPTION
DYNAFIT 130 mm ski crampons are specific accessories for ski touring bindings, designed to increase traction and stability on compact, icy, or particularly hard snow surfaces. When snow conditions deteriorate — ice crusts, hard firn, wind-exposed slopes — the AT boot sole loses grip: the crampons intervene precisely at that moment, restoring active safety with every step.
Construction and compatibility
The 130 mm length is designed for effective coverage of the front part of the sole, where most of the load is concentrated during uphill walking. The lightweight structure minimizes the added weight on the foot — a critical aspect on long outings with significant elevation gain — without compromising the structural rigidity needed to bite into the ice. The crampons are compatible with widely used ski touring bindings, ensuring quick and secure mounting even with gloves.
When and why to use them
- Sections of bare ice or load-bearing snow during high-altitude ascents
- Foot descents on exposed and icy slopes
- Spring conditions with nightly freeze-thaw that hardens the snowpack
- Approaches on icy winter trails before putting on skis
Carrying them in your backpack as an emergency kit is a basic safety choice for anyone practicing ski touring in alpine environments.
- Ski mountaineering
