DESCRIPTION

The Ondra Comp was born from a direct collaboration with Adam Ondra, who actively contributed to the development and validation of every single construction choice. The result is a bouldering shoe designed to precisely cover three specific technical scenarios: smearing on overhanging walls, toe hooks on micro-edges, and heel hooks on steep crimps.

Construction and Materials

The upper is made of synthetic leather with high dimensional stability, ensuring a consistent fit over time without the stretching typical of natural leather. The sole is made of Vibram XS Grip2 rubber, a soft, high-friction compound that maximizes contact with the rock in pure smearing situations. The shoe features an asymmetrical profile with an aggressive toe and a semi-rigid construction that balances tactile sensitivity with the necessary support for loading the smallest holds without structural failure.

Performance and Use

  • Molded heel with specific rubber for heel hooking, which adheres precisely even on rounded holds
  • Narrow and downturned fit structure optimized for load concentration on the toe
  • Closure with a double Velcro system for quick adjustment between boulders
  • Breathable inner lining for extended sessions in the gym or on outdoor boulders
