DESCRIPTION
The Wild Country Friend 4.0 is a new generation dual-axle camming device, designed for climbers who demand maximum performance from their rack.
This updated version of the Friend introduces significant technical improvements over the previous generation:
- 13.75° cam angle, hollow twin axle, and milled lobes for maximum holding power and reduced snagging probability
- Flow Cord with seamless core-sheath construction, for smooth, tangle-free extension
- Symmetrical, preloaded lobe locking mechanism, a specific feature of size 4
The distinctive feature of the Wild Country Friend remains the combination of the thumbloop and the extendable sling: a solution that reduces the need for additional quickdraws, minimizes rope drag, and limits cam walking on the rock face.

14-year certified lifespan: resists UV rays, humidity, and freeze/thaw stress (10 years of use + 4 years of proper storage)
Hollow dual axle design: reduces weight and maximizes cam lobe extension, for continuous size overlap
Milled and polished cam lobes: soft, untreated aluminum with 8–10% superior grip compared to anodized surfaces
