PETZL Reverso Belay Device Gray - Grey is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Reverso is one of the most widely used belay devices in climbing, appreciated for its versatility in very different contexts: from sport climbing to multi-pitch routes, and even mountaineering. Its geometry allows it to work with one or two ropes simultaneously, making it suitable for both sport climbing and abseiling.
Technical features
The Reverso is compatible with ropes from 7.7 mm to 11 mm, covering the entire range of modern ropes, from thin half ropes to more robust single ropes. Its light weight — 83 grams — makes it an efficient choice for those who want to reduce the weight of their belay device without sacrificing functionality. The device is made of aluminum, a material that guarantees mechanical resistance with minimal bulk.
Modes of use
- Belaying the lead climber in dynamic mode, with controlled rope slippage
- Belaying the second from the anchor in autoblocking mode, which allows the load to be blocked without holding the rope under continuous tension
- Abseiling, even with two ropes simultaneously
The autoblocking mode from the anchor is particularly useful on multi-pitch routes, where it allows the second to be brought up with precise control and less fatigue compared to traditional tubular devices. The gray color identifies this standard version of the Reverso range.
