DESCRIPTION
The PETZL Grigri+ Blue is an assisted locking belay device designed for gym and crag climbing, suitable for both lead climbing and top-rope belaying. Its locking system is based on a rotating cam that automatically locks the rope in case of a fall, reducing the effort required from the belayer.
Technology and Technical Specifications
The Grigri+ includes an anti-panic handle: if the belayer squeezes the release lever too hard during a fall — a common instinctive reaction among beginners — the system intervenes by automatically locking the device and preventing uncontrolled rope slippage. This feature distinguishes it from the standard Grigri and makes it a particularly suitable tool for educational settings or where safety needs to be maximized. The device is compatible with ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm and weighs 200 g. The construction combines an aluminum body with steel internal components to ensure long-lasting durability even with intensive use. A dedicated top-rope mode facilitates rope feeding during top-rope belaying, reducing fatigue.
