The Mammut Taiss Guide SO Pants are men's softshell pants designed for those operating in alpine environments in severe weather conditions: technical mountaineering, demanding ski mountaineering, and glacier activities where weather protection is non-negotiable.
Construction and materials
The structure is based on a 3-layer membrane softshell fabric, which combines waterproofing, breathability, and abrasion resistance in a single compact layer. The applied water-repellent treatment is completely PFC-free, ensuring high water resistance performance without resorting to perfluorinated substances. The fabric is completely windproof, a fundamental feature during exposures on ridges or at altitude when the biting wind drastically lowers the perceived temperature.
Technical details and fit
- Articulated cut with pre-shaped leg for freedom of movement during technical passages and progress on skis
- Side ventilation zippers for thermal management during intense ascents
- Leg cuffs with integrated gaiter and under-boot hook for a stable fit over boot shells
