THE NORTH FACE Women's Summit Papsura Futurelight™ Jacket - ORANGE / S is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
DESCRIPTION
The Summit Papsura jacket is named after the eponymous peak that rises above the Tosh Glacier in the Indian Eastern Himalayas – one of the subcontinent’s most challenging mixed walls – and brings that same mountaineering ambition to its fabric architecture. The technical core is the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane, an electrospun nanomembrane that The North Face developed as a direct evolution of Gore-Tex: it allows for significantly superior breathability compared to traditional membranes, while maintaining complete waterproofing certified for extreme conditions.
Construction and materials
Fully heat-sealed seams eliminate any points of infiltration along the seam lines, a critical aspect in high-altitude alpine environments where rain, snow, and ice alternate without warning. The construction is optimized for low weight and compressibility, two essential parameters when every gram in the backpack comes at a cost at high altitude. The fit is cut for the female body to ensure full freedom of movement with harness and technical backpack worn.
When to use it
- Technical mountaineering and high-altitude expeditions with variable weather conditions
- Ice and mixed climbing where breathability and waterproofing must coexist
- Trekking in arctic or subalpine environments with prolonged exposure to the elements
This jacket is designed for those who truly ascend, not for those who walk in good weather: the FUTURELIGHT™ membrane actively manages the water vapor produced by intense physical exertion, reducing the accumulation of internal moisture that with standard membranes often forces a stop for ventilation.
