The Petzl Reverso is one of the most popular belay-rappel devices in vertical environments, appreciated by climbers who practice sport climbing, multi-pitch climbing, and mountaineering thanks to its ability to cover very different technical situations with a single compact tool.
Functionality and Modes of Use
The Reverso operates in three distinct configurations: as a tubular belay device for managing the lead climber's rope, as a rappelling device with smooth and controlled descent, and in Reverso mode — its strong point — which allows belaying one or two seconds simultaneously directly from the anchor with assisted braking. This latter mode is particularly effective on multi-pitch routes, where managing two partners at the same time represents a real advantage in terms of time and safety.
