The PETZL Paso Guide 7.7 mm is a 60-meter half rope designed for technical mountaineering and ice climbing in challenging conditions. With a diameter of only 7.7 mm, it offers a weight-to-performance ratio that makes it a solid choice for those tackling long routes, mixed ridges, or icefalls where every gram counts.
Hydrophobic treatment and durability
The Guide UIAA Dry treatment applied to both the core and sheath ensures high resistance to water, snow, and ice absorption. In wet or sub-zero conditions, an untreated rope can absorb over 50% of its weight in water, increasing stiffness and losing its ability to run smoothly. The Guide UIAA Dry treatment keeps the rope light, manageable, and dynamically effective even after prolonged exposure to moisture—a decisive feature for daily use in an alpine environment.
