DESCRIPTION
The Petzl DRY Tooling Pick is a replacement pick specifically designed for the technical disciplines of dry tooling and extreme ice climbing. With a thickness of 4 mm and a refined tip of 3.3 mm, it ensures precise and reliable penetration even in the coldest and most compact ice, where a less refined geometry would struggle to bite the surface.
Geometry and Attachment Teeth
The pick's shape is designed to meet the demands of technical movement on rock and ice. The lower attachment teeth ensure a solid grip in standard positions, while the upper teeth are optimized for inverted positions, typical of advanced movements in competitive dry tooling and vertical ice falls. This dual configuration allows for maintaining control of the tool in situations of dynamic load and extreme angles.
Compatibility and Mounting
- Compatible with the Petzl SUM'TEC ice axe
- Pick thickness: 4 mm, tip refined to 3.3 mm
- Attachment teeth on the lower part (standard positions) and on the upper part (inverted positions)
Replacing a worn pick with the DRY version extends the lifespan of your ice axe and allows you to adapt the tool to specific technical contexts, without having to replace your entire kit.
