DESCRIPTION
The PETZL Grigri is the most widely used cam-assisted locking belay device in sport climbing worldwide. Compact and well-balanced in weight, it is equally suitable for use in the gym and at the crag, both for belaying a lead climber and for top-roping.
Mechanism and compatibility
Its operation is based on an internal cam that automatically locks the rope in the event of a fall, reducing the braking load on the belayer. The device is compatible with ropes from 8.5 mm to 11 mm, covering the vast majority of sport climbing ropes on the market. The CE EN 15151-2 certification ensures its suitability to European standards for assisted-locking belay devices.
