The Mammut Barryvox 2 is a three-antenna digital avalanche transceiver designed for those who frequent high-altitude terrain with avalanche risk, from ski touring to freeriding. Compact and lightweight, it combines ease of use with advanced technical features, making it suitable for both those new to avalanche rescue and those with established experience.
Technology and search performance
The Barryvox 2 operates on the international standard frequency of 457 kHz with a three-antenna system that ensures omnidirectional reception and precise localization of the buried person. The signal range of up to 70 meters in reception allows the search phase to be initiated from a distance, reducing critical intervention times. The graphic display guides you step-by-step through the search phases — signal, cross search, probing point — with clear visual and acoustic indications even under stress.
Reliability and active safety
