DESCRIPTION

The Tarantula Boulder was designed as a climbing shoe for beginners in indoor bouldering, but with a refined enough construction to accompany climbers even in more demanding gym sessions. Its unstructured design ensures direct sensitivity to the rock (or panel), providing the necessary feedback to read small holds without unnecessarily stiffening the foot.

Construction and fit

The shape is neutral, with a shoe curve that does not force the toes into an arched position: ideal for those who have not yet developed a technical preference or prefer long sessions without fatiguing the foot. The double velcro closure with opposing straps allows for quick adjustment of the fit, a useful detail especially during sessions when the shoe is continuously put on and taken off between one boulder problem and another.

Technical details

  • Upper in synthetic microfiber for dimensional stability over time (does not stretch like the leather version)
  • 4 mm FriXion RS rubber sole, a soft, high-grip compound developed by La Sportiva
  • Molded heel with a dedicated cup to optimize heel technique in typical bouldering movements
  • Continuous Rand system that wraps around the shoe for uniform support during climbing
