DESCRIPTION
The EDELRID Pure Screw is a pear-shaped (HMS) screw-gate carabiner designed for use with the Munter hitch and belay devices in sport climbing, multi-pitch climbing, and rappelling maneuvers. Its wide internal geometry allows the rope to run smoothly, reducing friction and wear on both the rope and the carabiner itself.
Geometry and locking system
The nose is shaped according to the Keylock system, which eliminates the traditional hook, replacing it with a smooth profile: this prevents accidental snagging on hangers, rings, and quick links during clipping and unclipping operations, even with gloves or in stressful conditions. The threaded screw gate ensures reliable manual closure that can be visually checked.
