DESCRIPTION
The EDELRID HMPE Cord Sling is a cord loop made of HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fiber, 6 mm in diameter and 90 cm long, designed for those who need a lightweight and extremely strong connecting element in their climbing or mountaineering kit.
Material and technical performance
HMPE fiber, also known as Dyneema or Spectra, is one of the synthetic fibers with the best strength-to-weight ratio available on the market. This translates into a cord with a very high breaking strength despite its reduced 6 mm thickness, while maintaining a low weight that makes it ideal for lightweight mountaineering and trad climbing. The thin diameter allows it to be easily inserted into narrow cracks and natural protections.
Use and versatility
With its 90 cm length, the loop is suitable for multiple uses: building anchors, anchoring to rock spikes, setting up protections on ice screws and blocks, or as an extension for cords already on the harness.
