The CAMP Ascent is a 10-point steel crampon designed for those seeking lightness and functionality in classic mountaineering and on compact snow and moderate ice. The minimalist structure does not compromise solidity: the steel guarantees durability and grip on mixed terrain.
Footwear adaptability
The most distinctive element of the Ascent is its flexible and asymmetrical adjustment bar, shaped to follow the natural geometry of the sole. This detail significantly improves contact between the crampon and the boot, reducing unwanted movement during use and increasing precision on the terrain.
Interchangeable binding system
The Ascent supports two binding configurations thanks to the total interchangeability of the binding systems:
- Automatic binding (rear and front step-in): compatible with mountaineering boots with rigid soles and dedicated welts
- Semi-automatic binding: achieved by replacing the front bail with the toe basket, to adapt to boots with semi-rigid soles and no front welt
This flexibility makes it compatible with a wider range of technical footwear, without having to buy a second pair of crampons when changing boots. A practical solution for those who practice mountaineering on non-extreme terrain and want a reliable, adaptable tool without unnecessary weight.
