DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Half Dome is a climbing helmet designed specifically for the female head shape. The women's version reinterprets a consolidated model in the world of sport and traditional climbing, introducing structural modifications that make a difference in daily use at the crag or in the mountains.
Construction and fit
The outer shell is made of injection-molded polycarbonate, a choice that guarantees resistance to direct impacts while keeping the weight contained. The interior uses a low-density EPS foam suspension, which effectively absorbs impact energy. The shell is shaped with a ponytail-optimized rear profile: the opening in the lower part of the shell allows hair to be tied back without the ponytail creating pressure or compromising the stability of the helmet on the head.
Adjustment and ventilation system
- DialFit single-dial adjustment system, usable with one hand even while climbing
- Adjustable chin strap buckle with quick release
- Passive ventilation through front openings and air channels in the internal suspension
- Compatibility with headlamp mounts integrated into the shell
The fit on a female head reduces lateral pressure points that often make unisex models uncomfortable during long sessions. Suitable for sport climbing, traditional routes, and alpine approaches where UIAA and CE EN 12492 certified protection is required.
