DESCRIPTION
The Atomic Backland is a ski touring helmet designed for those tackling challenging ascents without sacrificing protection. Its construction is based on a polycarbonate shell combined with high-density EPS foam, capable of effectively absorbing impacts in both intense cold and milder temperatures.
Construction and Protection
The Backland complies with EN 1077 Class B certification, the reference standard for alpine skiing and ski touring helmets. Its low weight—between 280 and 320 g depending on the size—makes it suitable for uphill excursions, where every gram counts. The shell is available in white, which reflects direct sunlight during long exposures at high altitudes.
Fit and Compatibility
- 360° Custom Fit adjustment system for a precise fit to the head shape
- Removable ear pads, useful for modulating ventilation between ascent and descent phases
- Compatible with ski touring glasses and goggles from the Atomic range
- Adjustable air vents to manage internal temperature during changes in pace
