DESCRIPTION
The Backland XTD 105 Gripwalk Woman is a women's ski mountaineering boot that solves one of the most common compromises in mountain progression: being able to use wide freeride or all-mountain skis without losing efficiency on the ascent. The 100 mm last makes it compatible with more voluminous setups compared to pure touring boots, while maintaining a real and functional stride.
Technologies and Construction
The construction is based on a Grilamid shell, a lightweight and deformation-resistant polyamide material, combined with an anatomical inner boot designed for the female foot morphology. The boot's Mimic technology system adapts the fit to volumetric changes throughout the day. The 105 flex index ensures precise ski response on descents, with sufficient rigidity to transmit control on challenging slopes, without sacrificing mobility during the ascent thanks to the rear opening.
Versatility and Binding Compatibility
The strength of this model is its Gripwalk (GW) compatibility, which allows it to be used with alpine ski bindings equipped with a Gripwalk plate, with ski touring bindings conforming to ISO 9523 standards, and with PIN/Tech bindings. This triple compatibility makes it suitable for those who want a single boot for different contexts: ski touring outings with significant elevation gain, piste days, or freeride with moderate ascents. The Gripwalk sole significantly improves traction and safety on icy surfaces during foot approaches.
