DESCRIPTION
The Totem Cam 0.80 Yellow is a traditional four-cam climbing friend, designed around the patented Direct Loading Camming Device (DLCD) system. This mechanism transfers the load directly to the cams without torsional stress on the central body, increasing the contact surface with the rock and significantly improving holding power compared to conventional designs.
Technical features
The geometry of the cams is calculated to maintain a constant friction angle throughout the expansion range, ensuring consistent performance in both parallel and slightly flared cracks. The stem is made of CNC-machined aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, with a stainless steel trigger for high durability even with intensive use. The 0.80 size covers a crack range between 20.9 mm and 35.5 mm, placing it in the medium-small range of the Totem assortment and identified by its yellow color for immediate recognition on the harness.
Use and versatility
Thanks to its wide expansion range relative to its size, this friend adapts well to irregular cracks where other models might be less reliable. It is a size frequently used on granite, sandstone, and dolomite, where cracks of this diameter are particularly common. Placement is precise, and reading the correct expansion is intuitive even with gloves. Compatible with major certifications CE EN 12276 and UIAA.
