DESCRIPTION
The Salewa Wildfire NXT GTX is an approach shoe designed for those who start directly from home and don't want to compromise between comfort on the trail and precision on rocks. The Gore-Tex® Extended Comfort membrane ensures complete waterproofing and active breathability, making it suitable even in variable weather conditions or on wet terrain.
Construction and materials
The upper is made of Matryx® reinforced with Kevlar® fibers, a material that combines structural lightness and exceptional abrasion resistance: Kevlar® increases durability in high-stress areas without adding weight to the shoe. The structure is completed by Salewa's 3F (3 Fit System), which wraps the foot at three distinct points — forefoot, arch, and heel — for a precise and stable anatomical fit, essential when transitioning from an uneven trail to a rock slab.
Performance on rock and trail
- Pomoca Climb Pro outsole with specific compound for grip on rock when standing and pulling
- Low-profile front area that allows you to feel the rock under your toes during technical steps
- Midsole with selective cushioning: more present in the heel for hiking, stiffer at the toe for vertical terrain
- Padded tongue and anatomical collar that reduce pressure points during long descents
It's the right choice for alpinists and climbers who face long approaches with significant elevation gain, where carrying two pairs of shoes is not a practical option.
