DESCRIPTION
The SALEWA Ortles HMS C.3 is an aluminum pear-shaped carabiner designed for belaying and rappelling, with an internal opening wide enough to handle multiple knots simultaneously or a Munter hitch (HMS) without the rope getting jammed or losing its smooth glide.
C.3 Locking System: three modes in one carabiner
The distinctive feature of this carabiner is the C.3 (Certified Triple Control) locking system, which integrates a double-function auto-locking lever. With a single device, you can switch from auto-locking mode — ideal when you want to maximize safety at the anchor or during delicate maneuvers — to semi-automatic mode, which allows quick one-handed opening without sacrificing protection against accidental openings. This versatility makes it suitable for both belaying from below and rope management on the wall.
