DESCRIPTION
The Petzl William Screw-Lock is a large capacity manual screw-gate carabiner, designed for belaying, managing anchors, and use with belay devices such as the Grigri or tube-style belay devices. Its asymmetrical pear shape creates a wide and geometric opening that naturally allows multiple elements to be connected simultaneously—lanyards, energy absorbers, slings—keeping everything correctly positioned on the nose.
Construction and Technologies
The body is made of high-strength aluminum, with a symmetrical profile that ensures stability regardless of its orientation of use. The Keylock system eliminates the hook on the carabiner's nose: this construction detail prevents accidental snagging on equipment during maneuvers, a real advantage both on the rock face and at the anchor. The Screw-Lock gate is manually screwed and is sized for easy operation even with climbing gloves or in cold conditions.
