DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Spirit with a bent gate is one of the most popular wiregate carabiners in sport climbing, recognizable by its gate profile that facilitates clipping and unclipping maneuvers even in awkward positions or with tired hands. The bent gate is the preferred variant for direct attachment to the rope because its curved profile intuitively guides the rope into the correct position when clipping.
Technology and Construction
The Keylock system eliminates the traditional hooked nose, replacing it with a smooth profile that does not snag on anchors, slings, or protection during clipping and unclipping operations. The body is made of aluminum alloy with standard dimensions that ensure compatibility with any type of anchor, while maintaining a low weight of 36 g. The elongated shape of the body facilitates the passage of the rope through the carabiner even at high speed, reducing friction during a fall.
