The Petzl Sm'D RL Twist is a D-shaped asymmetrical locking carabiner, designed for those seeking a compact, reliable, and versatile connector for climbing and work at height. Its asymmetrical D-shape ensures consistent performance regardless of the load orientation, making it suitable for connecting lanyards, descenders, belay devices, and various accessories without constantly checking the direction of attachment.
Technical Features
The body is made of high-strength aluminum, with a low weight that makes it suitable for extended use on a wall or at height without adding significant bulk to the gear. The gate features an RL Twist (Twist-Lock) system, a double-action mechanism that requires rotation followed by pressure to open: this mechanism reduces the risk of accidental opening while remaining manageable even with gloves. The carabiner is CE EN 12275 certified and meets UIAA standards, with a major axis breaking strength of 25 kN, a minor axis breaking strength of 7 kN, and an open gate breaking strength of 7 kN.
