DESCRIPTION
The PETZL Express 17 cm is a pre-assembled sling designed for climbing on bolted routes, where quick handling and reliable clipping make all the difference. The 17 cm length is the intermediate size in the range, suitable for most standard crag situations, offering an ideal middle ground between the compactness of the 12 cm and the flexibility of the 25 cm to reduce the leverage effect on quickdraws.
Construction and Materials
The sling is made of high-tenacity nylon webbing with a contoured geometry that allows for a firm and secure grip during clipping operations, even with gloves or under stress. The STRING system – an elastic material protector that surrounds the lower carabiner – serves a dual function: it keeps the carabiner correctly oriented with respect to the bolt or chain, preventing unwanted rotations, and at the same time, it protects the sling from abrasion at the point of contact with the metal, extending the quickdraw's lifespan over time.
