The Petzl Axess is a sewn sling designed for crag climbing, where simplicity and reliability are paramount. With a length of 17 cm, it falls in the mid-range of the Axess line — also available in 12 and 25 cm — offering a good balance between compactness and managing rope drag on the route.
Construction and materials
The sling is made of high-tenacity nylon with a width of 17 mm, which ensures abrasion resistance during repeated contact with quickdraws. The most notable feature is the integrated STRING protection: a soft loop that keeps the carabiner correctly positioned within the sling, preventing unwanted rotation during clipping and reducing localized wear on the fabric.
