DESCRIPTION
The Petzl Boreo is a full-shell, versatile helmet, designed for those who practice vertical activities in environments where protection counts more than lightness: crag and mountain climbing, via ferrata, canyoning, and caving. The construction with a thick ABS outer shell and internal EPP foam ensures superior resistance to point impacts and lateral rubbing, making it particularly reliable in caves, canyons, and areas with friable rock.
Construction and Protection
The enveloping shape of the shell extends to cover the temples and the back of the skull, offering more extensive peripheral protection compared to grid models. This closed geometry is why the Boreo is the preferred choice in caving and canyoning, where the head is exposed to impacts from unpredictable directions. Its suitability for demanding contexts is attested by EN 12492 (mountaineering) and EN 397 (industrial) certifications.
Adjustment and Comfort
