The Ortovox 230 Competition Long Pants are women's thermal pants designed for the most demanding winter mountain disciplines: ski touring, freeriding, and high-altitude mountaineering. The number 230 indicates the merino wool weight in g/m², a medium-light weight that offers the right balance between thermal insulation and breathability under intense exertion.
Technical Construction and Material
The fabric is made from ZQ-certified merino wool, with a seamless knitting construction that eliminates seams in high-friction areas and adapts the fabric thickness to different body zones. Areas in direct contact with the skin receive a softer layer, while areas subject to greater mechanical stress—such as the knees and seat—are structurally reinforced within the fabric itself. The result is a garment that manages sweat naturally, without retaining moisture, leveraging the hygroscopic properties of merino fiber.
