The La Sportiva Protector Primaloft Over Pant is an over-pant designed for ski mountaineering and skimo racing, intended to be worn over technical pants in emergency weather situations or during pre-race warm-ups. Its function is to effectively protect against the most aggressive conditions without compromising mobility or adding significant weight to the race kit.
Construction and Insulation
The outer material combines wind protection and light rain resistance, while the PrimaLoft insulation provides reliable thermal insulation even in humid conditions, where synthetic fibers maintain their thermal properties unlike down. The construction is geared towards maximum weight and volume reduction: the pant compresses into a minimal space, making it easy to store in a backpack or gear holder during the ascent.
