DESCRIPTION

The La Sportiva Mutant is a trail running shoe designed for medium to long distances on technical terrain, where stability can never be sacrificed for speed. Its Mountain Running® profile makes it suitable for both sky races and training on challenging single tracks, performing reliably even when the ground becomes uneven or wet.

Construction and Key Technologies

The upper integrates a spiral-opening gaiter, which allows the shoe to be put on as quickly as a traditional tongue model, while preventing debris from entering during the run. The integrated lacing system evenly distributes pressure across the instep, reducing friction points on long runs. The upper graphic is inspired by the topography of Val di Fiemme, a high-altitude area that directly influenced the technical design of this footwear.

Sole and Grip

  • FriXion® XF 2.0 compound for high grip on wet rock and mixed terrain
  • Lug geometry optimized for quick self-cleaning on mud and soft ground
  • Midsole with Strike Path for a smooth heel-to-toe transition
  • Rubber heel protection against abrasion on scree and roots
