DESCRIPTION
The La Sportiva Laspo Knee Pad is a technical knee pad designed for climbing, created to protect the knee during knee bar maneuvers and movements that require direct support of the kneecap on rock or artificial walls.
Construction and materials
The structure consists of three distinct layers that work together: on the outside, a 4mm high-grip rubber layer provides grip and abrasion resistance; in the middle, a rigid plastic insert distributes and absorbs localized pressure, reducing the risk of contact injuries; on the inside, a 3mm double-lined neoprene layer with a top anti-slip silicone coating keeps the knee pad firmly on the leg without creating excessive pressure or skin irritation.
Fit and adjustment
The double elastic strap closure system allows the knee pad to be put on and removed quickly, even with chalky hands. It is designed to be positioned on the quadriceps, above the knee, so as not to limit joint flexion during climbing movements. The combination of inner neoprene and elastic bands ensures a stable hold even during prolonged sessions, without slipping that would require constant readjustment.
A solid solution for those tackling routes with frequent knee bars or technical wall sections where joint protection makes a difference in session duration.
