La Sportiva's Alpine Guide Leather Gloves are designed for technical ice and mixed climbing, where grip precision and resistance to abrasive materials make all the difference. The construction combines goatskin leather – valued for its natural softness and high tear resistance – with stretchy nylon inserts that ensure freedom of movement and adaptability to the hand's shape during ice axe and crampon maneuvers.
Materials and construction
The back of the glove is reinforced with SuperFabric fabric, a technology composed of rigid micro-plates anchored on a flexible substrate, which offers superior abrasion resistance compared to conventional technical fabrics without compromising flexibility. This construction choice protects areas most exposed to contact with rock, ice, and metal equipment.
Retention and safety system
