DESCRIPTION
The KONG Tango is a twin-gate carabiner designed for those seeking a reliable and quick-locking system in climbing situations, whether on rock, in a climbing area, or in an alpine environment. The opening mechanism requires two simultaneous actions: pressing the rear gate with the palm of the hand and simultaneously pulling the front gate, a combination that effectively eliminates the risk of accidental opening during use.
Construction and safety
The body is made of high-strength aluminum, which ensures a good balance between lightness and structural robustness. The rear gate is shielded and protected by the carabiner's specific geometric shape: this prevents lateral pressure—caused by rubbing against the wall or contact with the harness—from inadvertently triggering the opening. This construction detail makes a difference in situations where the carabiner operates dynamically.
Applications and use
- Construction of belays and anchoring systems thanks to its ease of one-handed manipulation
- Use as a main connector on via ferratas or in rock progression
- Compatible with lanyards, slings, and standard belay systems
The twin-gate shape makes it faster to open than a traditional screw-gate carabiner, while maintaining high safety standards against unintentional openings. Available in black.
