DESCRIPTION
The Salathe Lite by Edelrid is a climbing and mountaineering helmet that pushes the boundaries of the weight-to-protection ratio, thanks to the adoption of Curv®, a high-performance thermoplastic that replaces the traditional ABS shell. The result is a weight reduction of approximately 20% compared to the standard version, with mechanical properties comparable to fiber composites like carbon: good structural rigidity and impact resistance.
Technology and Materials
The Curv® shell ensures high impact absorption capacity while maintaining a reduced thickness, a feature that translates into a compact and aerodynamic profile. The interior is lined with multi-density EPS foam, which distributes impact forces over wider areas. The Twist&Fit adjustment system allows for precise head circumference fitting without removing gloves, a practical element in cold conditions or on challenging terrain.
