DESCRIPTION
The CAMP Orbit Lock is a screwgate carabiner designed for those seeking a compact yet high-performance connector, capable of advantageously replacing an HMS in situations where space and rope management make a difference. Its enlarged pear shape offers great stability on the main load axis, reducing the tendency to rotate under tension.
Geometry and locking system
The nose features SphereLock technology, a spherical geometry that optimizes the gate keeper and reduces the risk of accidental openings during maneuvers. The screwgate ensures a secure and intuitive closure, suitable for both anchor use and rappelling. The high-strength aluminum alloy structure ensures high rigidity while keeping weight down, making it practical to carry on the wall without adding excessive bulk to the system.
Use and versatility
Its compact size makes it particularly effective in anchor setups and rappelling maneuvers, where a traditional HMS would be cumbersome and less manageable. Connected to the harness, it allows for mounting belay devices and auto-blocking devices with greater precision and control.
