DESCRIPTION
The Black Diamond Offset Stopper Set #7-11 are passive protection wedges made of anodized aluminum alloy, designed to address the limitations of traditional symmetrically shaped nuts. The asymmetric shape of the two sides creates a double contact profile that adapts more precisely to irregular cracks, with asymmetric constrictions or those deformed by years of piton use.
Geometry and Construction
Unlike a standard nut, each Offset Stopper features two faces with different angles: this allows for a stable placement even in those difficult spots where a conventional wedge would rotate or fail to wedge. The body is made of anodized aluminum for each size, with the same color coding as Black Diamond's classic Stoppers to quickly identify the size during progression.
Use and Set Composition
The set includes sizes #7 to #11, covering the most common crack range in both free and aid climbing routes. It is the ideal choice for crags and walls where old piton routes have left enlarged scars or where the rock naturally presents irregular geometries. The nuts are supplied with separate locking carabiners for each piece, ready to be racked directly on the harness or on a nut holder. The harmonic steel cable ensures tensile strength and long life even with intensive use.
