DESCRIPTION
Black Diamond Offset Stoppers #11 are passive aluminum alloy protection wedges designed to fit challenging placements where traditional nuts fail. Their asymmetric and tapered geometry allows them to exploit irregular cracks, piton scars, and uneven constrictions that preclude the use of symmetrically shaped protection.
Geometry and Construction
Unlike classic Stoppers, the offset shape creates two different contact profiles on opposite faces of the wedge: this allows the nut to be rotated and repositioned until optimal seating is found, even in cracks that change angle or width irregularly. The braided steel cable is sized according to the stopper and ensures adequate load resistance. Size-specific anodization allows for quick identification of the correct protection during ascent, reducing placement time in both free climbing and aid climbing.

The #11 is at the higher end of the Offset Stopper range, suitable for medium to large cracks. Like the entire line, it is compatible with standard nut tools and integrates seamlessly into a mixed rack with active protection.
