The Black Diamond Camalot Z4 in size 0.5 redefines single-stem cam performance thanks to its proprietary RigidFlex technology: the stem behaves rigidly during placement—ensuring precision and stability during insertion—and becomes flexible once you climb past the protection point, drastically reducing the risk of walking and anchor displacement.
Technology and Construction
The RigidFlex mechanism is at the heart of this active passive protection device: the rigidity during placement allows the cam to be placed with one hand even in awkward positions or on overhangs, while the dynamic flexibility of the stem absorbs lateral stresses during progression, keeping the lobes in the correct position within the crack. The 0.5 size covers an expansion range between 13.8 and 19.6 mm, making it ideal for thin cracks and small-diameter technical cracks.
