DESCRIPTION
The PETZL ALTITUDE is a mountaineering and ski mountaineering harness designed for those who move in vertical environments with equipment on their feet: the geometry of the leg loops allows the harness to be put on and taken off without removing skis, crampons, or gaiters, eliminating one of the most inconvenient operations on a rock face or glacier.
Construction and Weight
The structure is stripped down to the essentials to keep the weight to a minimum, a fundamental characteristic in contexts such as glacier mountaineering, steep ski mountaineering, and mixed routes, where every gram counts on long climbs. The front attachment point is reinforced and compatible with standard belay and rappel systems. Two gear loops allow ice screws, quickdraws, or other tools necessary for progression on glacial or mixed terrain to be attached.
