DESCRIPTION
The Ortles 90 Next is a ski touring ski built entirely in Bormio, a direct expression of Ski Trab's production philosophy: selected materials, Italian technology and concrete performance on all types of snow. With a tip width of 90 mm, it falls into the all-mountain touring segment, capable of guaranteeing stability on descents without sacrificing lightness on ascents.
Technical Construction
The heart of the Ortles 90 Next is the 14-layer construction, a structural system that homogeneously distributes stresses along the entire length of the ski. The core is made of LI-Wood, a technology that optimizes the ratio between torsional rigidity and weight, while maintaining a progressive elastic response. Around the core, a braided fiberglass and basalt sock wraps the entire structure: the basalt lowers the overall elastic modulus, making the ski's behavior softer and more comfortable than pure carbon fiber constructions, with natural vibration dampening on hard or packed snow.
Use and Performance
- Ideal for demanding excursions and traverses on varied terrain
- Precise turning response thanks to the integrated multi-layer construction
- High comfort over long distances, even on irregular or crusted snow
- Compatible with both frame touring bindings and lightweight pin-system bindings
The result is a touring ski that does not force a choice between uphill efficiency and downhill enjoyment, suitable for those who tackle technical routes seeking a reliable response in all snow conditions, from untracked powder to spring corn snow.
