DESCRIPTION
When adapting a ski touring skin to a ski's specific geometry, the tip area is often the critical point: incorrect geometry leads to lifting, loss of adhesion, and potential detachment during the ascent. The Contour 95mm Tip Loop is a replacement front attachment loop, sold in pairs, designed to precisely adapt the skin to the ski's tip profile.
What it's for and when it's needed
Contour skins come from the factory with a standard tip loop that covers most conventional ski touring ski geometries. However, skis with particularly wide tips, accentuated rocker shapes, or unusual profiles require a different size loop to ensure correct tension and centering of the skin. The 95mm size is specifically designed for skis with medium-wide tips, allowing for stable attachment without deforming or stressing the skin material.
Compatibility and installation
The tip loop is compatible with Contour attachment systems and can be replaced quickly without special tools. The pack includes two loops, enough to equip both skins of a complete set. Using the correct size extends the skin's lifespan, preserves the integrity of the front end, and ensures uniform tension along the entire length of the skin during every high-altitude outing.
