The Black Crows Pilus Orb Freebird is a ski touring skin designed around a membrane system that redefines the relationship between adhesive protection and overall lightness. The ultra-thin membrane interposed between the pile and the adhesive layer performs a dual function: it insulates the glue from external moisture, ensuring 100% waterproofing, and stabilizes adhesive performance even in the presence of significant temperature fluctuations — a common condition during spring outings or days with high altitude changes.

The pile is made of a mohair-nylon hybrid composition, a technical choice that balances the smooth glide of pure mohair with the durability and abrasion resistance of nylon.
